Once there is pitting or scaling of the sole, or a hole, the shoe isn’t going to provide such a secure grip. Resoling at this early stage gets the best results. We usually recommend toe patches as a means of further improving the long term performance of the repair. Toe patches are blended into the profile of the sole and the rand to prevent excessive wear and tear and the possibility of an early rand puncture. Worn soles and rands are always completely removed prior to installing the new sole unit and rand patch. We use 1.8 mm Rubber for toe patches, and your choice of Vibram XS Grip 2 in 4.0 and 5mm, Vibram Edge, Five Ten C-4 5mm, Five Ten Onyxx in 4.2mm.
